ALMA
Alma is an evidence-based, peer mentoring program created by and for new and expecting mothers experiencing depression, anxiety and/or stress. Alma pairs mothers with trained Peer Mentors who have experienced similar challenges during or after pregnancy and can offer
support to new moms. The Alma program includes 6 to 8 mentoring sessions that happen about once a week. Sessions can be virtual or in person. Peer Mentors provide information and motivate mothers to learn skills they can use themselves to manage their symptoms.
To be eligible for the Alma program, you must be:
• An expecting or new mother through 13 months postpartum
• 18 and older
• A resident of New Jersey
